Hi dr. flashback,

First off, thanks for taking the time to write all those nice reviews!

As for Euro '74, absolutely, set II of 9/11/74 is a monster. But don't forget that 9/18/74 'Uncle John's Band' opener, a rare instance where that song got the jam treatment that, at least to my ears, it always seemed to beg for.

Now, an interesting thread could be about some of the most underrated shows from ’74, and 2/24, 6/16, and 6/18 certainly wouldn’t be in contention for that distinction, as those puppies live up to their reputation.

Take care,
merryjerry

Hey now merryjerry,

Interesting that you mention 9/18/74, the one show that I really love from Euro 74. Yeah, anytime you get Uncle John
as the opener, you know something good is gonna happen.
Also rare is the Caution in Set Two, and it's a cooker!

Don't have time to do reviews as much these days. It was big fun back in the "pioneer era" when the Archive was new and there weren't hardly any reviews. Indeed, except for hard core FTP users, most people didn't have that many shows
downloaded yet back in 2000. And so many, many shows from the 1960's and 1970's had never been heard or collected.
Most Archive listeners age 20-30 something had only been to
shows in the 1980's or 90's.

cheers,
Dr. Flashback :-)

Dr. Flashback,

At some point I'm sure someone will write a nice history of the GD on the IA.

Take care,
